![]() ![]() ![]() I would do this sail again if I returned to Boston on a warm sunny day.EACH of the clippers had her devoted admirers, who gave tangible proof of loyalty by investing money liberally in support of their belief in her speed. There was one woman in costume who told the story of the Boston Tea Party and did a brief bit near the end of the cruise where passengers threw a couple of fake crates of tea overboard, but it was not overdone and not a major part of the sail. It was a great way to enjoy a sunny afternoon, and very peaceful with no engine noise as we sailed around the harbor. There were only a couple dozen passengers, scattered about sitting on any available surfaces, and they had a cash bar open once we got underway. One of the deck hands sang some sea chantys as she worked, which was entertaining. ![]() This is a big sailing ship with a half dozen young deck hands, and they ask the passengers to help raise the sails initially, pulling on the lines as directed - after that, you can just sit and relax. Fortunately, then they asked someone who actually knew what was going on and he said yes, the boat was going out at 3 and he could sell us tickets. When we came back around 2:20, still no one at the booth, so we walked down the dock to the boat and some guys there told us the 3pm sail was cancelled :-(. They have a small ticket podium on the dock that is often unattended, and when we tried to show up for the noon cruise listed on the sign there was no boat and nobody in sight, so I called and found out the next cruise was at 3pm. This is a much smaller and less well-organized outfit than Boston Harbor Cruises, but once we actually got out on the water it was the most fun. Truly a trip we will never forget! Nik and Dusty Two for the Road But seriously, which choice is a bad one? We would highly recommend this trip. Or you can spend your time on the boat just kicking back and relaxing. You can go snorkeling in some of the clearest waters you've ever seen. You can spend the day on a secluded beach - reading, exploring, or swimming. ![]() You can take the small sailboat, kayak, or stand up paddle board out if you choose. We did so many cool things besides sailing though. The cook was incredible! Thanks again Jan for some flat out amazing meals! My favorite part was the sailing itself. If you'd rather just relax, they're cool with that as well. If you're interested, they really let you be part of the sailing experience - which was super cool for us. There is warm water for showers and there are sinks in the cabins themselves. There are shared bathrooms on board, but we never had an issue with the bathroom being occupied when we needed it. The ship is an absolute beauty! The cabins were comfortable. I seriously can not say one bad thing about it. Good thing we have photos and videos to prove otherwise. We had such an amazing time! Now it all seems like a dream. My husband and I just returned from a week long sail in the Bahamas aboard the Liberty Clipper. We will definitely be embarking on the Exuma trip next year. I cannot say enough good things to encourage this must-do experience. Meals were prepared each day and consisted of a variety of choices each meal, allowing for all passengers to be satisfied and full. Crew members were interactive and patient, taking adventurous passengers up the mast at their own pace and explaining the ship from a birds-eye view, taking passengers to various beaches, paddle boarding, and pointing out the best spots for snorkeling. Everyone was really made to feel like part of the team. Sailing out each morning, we were greeted with colourful sunrises and the opportunity to help hoist the sails up, some even grasping the chance to sail the boat under direction of the captain, who made sure to take ample time explaining how the sails and gauges worked. Each member took the time to engage with each passenger, sharing stories, teaching us about the ship, and even entertaining us with live music under a full moon. The trip would not have been the same without such a dynamic group of people. The ship was staffed with the most welcoming, accommodating, charismatic crew imaginable. This beautiful tall ship took us on a 4 day trip (1 week for remaining passengers, as we had to regrettably disembark early) from Nassau to Eleuthera, but also does trips to Exuma. What an AMAZING experience! I can't imagine a more picturesque experience for seeing the Bahamas out islands. ![]()
